Why it exists
Find the useful cut.
Alphabet Slice turns dictionary order into a small daily strategy game. No tiles. No trivia. Just words and position.
The idea
A hidden word sits somewhere inside an authored alphabetical range. Every word you enter becomes a possible dividing line. The game keeps the side containing the answer and removes the rest.
The basic move is obvious after one cut, but the strategy keeps developing: familiar words are not always useful words, and the best guess often sits near the center of the range.
Built differently
- Words stay whole The word itself is the object. There are no letter tiles to decode.
- Change stays visible Every cut result says what moved, how many guesses remain, and which of five broad zones to search next.
- Help stays optional One suggested cut is shown at a time when needed, without turning play into multiple choice.
- Everyone can finish No timer or hard lockout stands between a player and the answer.
Web first
Alphabet Slice begins as a focused mobile web game so the interaction can improve in players’ hands. It can be added to a phone’s home screen without creating an account.
Daily progress and streaks stay on the device. The game is intentionally small, quick to load, and designed around a compact in-game keyboard that keeps the range visible.
